Yay for finally getting a client right when the blossoms come out! They only last a week so timing is crucial!! And a plus note, Jenn wanted something earthy with a bohemian twist, so it was natural we head to the blossom fields.

This past weekend I assisted Blair Gable with a wedding at the Courtyard Restaurant in downtown Ottawa. We walked around the Rideau Canal & Ottawa Convention Center for portraits & then walked through the Byward market over to the Courtyard Restaurant for the ceremony. It was a very small wedding with only about 50 guests. There’s such a different vibe with smaller weddings, they’re very personal & intimate. It’s just the bride, groom & their closest family & friends. I love big weddings but every now and then I love working with a smaller crowd, it reminds me of my wedding. Congratulations Erin & Jed. Quatro!! nb

What a day! It was the one chance we had to shoot Jamie for her upcoming show at the World Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation Quebec championship. Her body was practically at it’s best before her big show tomorrow & of course it had to rain. Luckily I had a back up plan for a sheltered location near the Ottawa River but we just weren’t able to brave the cold for very long & had to call it an afternoon. The last thing you want to do before the big day is get sick, especially after you’ve worked so hard to get there. However, we did get some great shots with what we had & we will be seeing Jamie again very soon for a reshoot! Good luck tomorrow Jamie, you look amazing!

Kim and Adrian started their day off with traditional Chinese door games at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier. After having their first look there, they headed over to the Museum of Nature for their ceremony and reception which was nothing short of amazing! Where else can you get married with a giant Blue Whale hovering over your noggins? Nothing starts off the wedding season like Chinese door games, surprise tiger dances, man eating dinosaurs and a groom accidentally bumping and grinding the priest. This is how I want to start off every year! nb
